Common project questions
What is the difference between a machine rebuild and a CNC recontrol?
A rebuild addresses mechanical condition and supporting systems, with CNC conversion where appropriate. A recontrol modernizes the controls, drives, and software of a suitable machine. The right scope depends on its condition and the production capability you need. An older machine may benefit from either approach; age alone does not determine the choice.
How are installation and operator training handled?
Scope varies by project. MTB’s Fellows 10-4 on-site recontrol program, for example, describes an engineered control kit, installation, machine runoff, documentation, and operator and maintenance training. Its Pfauter-Kapp PE1000G project included training across shifts. Discuss your production schedule, existing programs, acceptance requirements, and team’s training needs when defining your own project.
Are all machines on the website available for immediate shipment?
No. The catalog includes new models, used machinery, and upgrade programs for a customer’s existing machine. Some models are built to order. Review the individual listing and confirm its configuration, scope, availability, and timing with MTB before planning your project.
