Knowledge...Innovation...Service...and
Engineering
Established in 1995,
MTB is dedicated to providing top
quality, highly reliable solutions for
the machine tool industry. Machine Tool
Builders, Inc. is an engineer owned
company built on complete customer
satisfaction. A unique mix of
capabilities gives MTB a strong
foundation for successfully meeting your
needs...whether you're an OEM or a user
of machine tools.
As a
technology-driven firm, the staff of MTB
offers a wide array of experience in
mechanical and electrical engineering,
electronic controls, and software design.
This knowledge is coupled with an eye for
innovation and a genuine desire to
provide the service you need, when you
need it.
MTB engineers are well
versed on hardware platforms common in
the U.S. and Europe. These systems
include: Allen-Bradley, Delta Tau, GE
Fanuc, Indramat, Industrial Drives, NUM,
Omron, Siemens, Square D, Telemecanique and Yaskawa
to mention a few. Of special note is our intimate
knowledge of NUM CNC's and our thorough
understanding of GE Fanuc control
systems. Although still relatively
unknown in the United States, NUM
controls are highly regarded throughout
the rest of the world and are a very
viable solution for many of today's
retrofit applications.
Many
existing NC and CNC machines built in the
60's, 70's and 80's can benefit from a
retrofit or a complete recontrol. It's an
area that MTB specializes in. Control
system retrofits can be performed on your
plant floor, in much less time than a
major rebuild. The result is often
increased uptime and output of higher
quality parts.
Today's modern controls also offer more
reliability, serviceability, and features
than the original control systems.
Specializing
in Recontrol and Rebuild of CNC and PLC Controlled
Machines
Many of these early
NC, CNC and PLC controlled machines are
already equipped with ball screws and
drive motors. This makes the transition to
the new generation controls relatively
straightforward, inexpensive and
fast...especially when compared to the
cost of a new machine.
Whether retrofitting,
rebuilding or designing new equipment,
panel building and wiring practices are
very important. MTB can build new panels,
or rewire existing panels to integrate
new controls.
We recently upgraded our CAD
systems to AutoCAD 2005 and AutoCAD Electrical,
which allow us to design the electrical systems
quicker and more accurately. You'll be impressed
with the control design, layout and wiring of a
panel built by detail oriented MTB craftsmen.
When you choose MTB as your machine tool
partner, you're hiring a staff of
engineers with years of firsthand plant
and floor experience...and
problem-solving expertise few other
system integrators can match.

Our
ability to quickly assimilate your
control and production system is based on
over 75+ years of machine tool
experience. This experience adds up to
savings for you when engineering,
retrofitting or rebuilding your
equipment. And, you can expect MTB to
provide seamless integration of services
from the concept stage through
engineering to the final installation and
startup.
MTB's expertise in gear manufacturing
machinery and gear production is worth
specific mention. A large percentage of
our 75+ years of experience in the
machine tool industry was obtained in the
gear cutting field. Our intimate
knowledge of gear machines and the
Geartronic or electronic gear box (EGB)
functions give MTB a unique ability few
other system integrators can match.

Heidenhain Authorized Dealer
MTB is also proud to
announce that we have become an authorized Heidenhain
dealer. We can specify and supply the entire range of
Heidenhain rotary encoders, angle encoders, scales, DROs
and associated equipment. We can also install your
scales, encoders and DRO for you. Just give us a call to
get a free competitive quote.
Work holding fixtures and Tooling
MTB also designs and
manufactures work holding fixtures and tooling
for your gear equipment. Our experience in this area
is noteworthy, and because of that we can generally
come up with a proposal to solve your problem in a
very short amount of time. The next time you are in need
arbors, fixtures, collets, drawbars, jaws, etc. think about MTB and let us work out the details for you.
