This type
of upgrade is usually a more extensive type of upgrade where the entire
control system or a large mechanical assembly is totally replaced with a
newer more modern version. The new equipment is all prepared offsite, then
integrated into the existing machine on site. Depending on the complexity,
the required down time could actually be less than a retrofit, since so much
work is done offsite.
Here at MTB we generally build the cabinets at
our facility and prepare a recontrol kit which contains all the cables,
motor adaptations and the controls. Then we ship the completed kit to the
customers facility for installation by our crews in the field.
